Have you ever wondered about those special schools that are built to help those with ADHD and other disorders? How do they work and could they be helpful to you or your family? Wondered if you could even afford the private school tuition?

I have the honour of interviewing Kim Tackaberry, a presenter from Calgary’s Foothills Academy. The school teaches students with Learning Disabilities from Grades 3 through 12. The school also has community outreach programs that have groups helping pre-schoolers through to adults with strategy and support in living and thriving with Learning Disorders.

Kim Tackaberry B.A, B. Ed. (Specialist in Special Education) graduated with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa in 1991. She has been teaching for twenty years in the area of learning disabilities. Kim has taught Grades One through Nine at Foothills Academy, a centre for children with Learning Disabilities. Over the past eight years, Kim has presented specific reading and writing programs as well as strategies to educators in districts across Canada.
